Who is
Rebecca Summers?

Rebecca Summers is a Queensland music teacher, writer and composer, and the creator of Musicals for Schools, a collection of original Australian musicals written specifically for school productions.

Based on the Sunshine Coast, Rebecca brings together her background in music education, communications and storytelling to create musicals that are engaging for students and practical for schools to stage.

Her passion is for writing musicals and music that inspire, challenge, and involve young performers.

A trained pianist, Rebecca also plays and teaches a variety of instruments and performs in several bands on trumpet, bagpipes, and bass guitar. Her career has included roles as a producer, project manager, and small business owner, giving her a unique mix of creative and organisational expertise.

Rebecca now teaches at North Arm State School, the school her children attended, where her love of music is matched by the school’s support for her bold, imaginative ideas.
